Broadband Coalition Statement Regarding Ex Parte On Competitive Business Broadband Market
(Washington, DC)—The following statement was issued today by former U.S. Congressman Chip Pickering, spokesman for The Broadband Coalition (www.thebroadbandcoalition.com) regarding the ex parte filed today referencing competition in the business broadband marketplace.
“What’s clear in this ex parte is that the competitive broadband providers have been the ones driving innovation and investment in the business broadband market. From new cloud technologies to 100G networks, the competitors lead the way. But what is also clear is that in order to allow this innovation to continue and grow, the FCC needs to update its competitive policies. They need to take a technology neutral approach to interconnection and access to last mile facilities – the key underpinnings of a competitive market. We will continue to work with the FCC pursuing a pro-competitive agenda because American businesses cannot grow without the latest technologies and innovations.”
